Describing what people are doing




Purpose: To produce questions with appropriate intonation when asking about actions in progress.

Teacher asks a question to the group. What are the verbs that begin with the letter a?

Mimes
Guess what I am doing. (Mime these activities).
making a sandwich, drinking tea, making pizza, driving a car, using a computer, doing the dishes, eating fish, washing my hair, waiting for a bus, eating a boiled egg, watching football on TV, doing sums.

Work in two teams. Take turns to mime a continuous action for your group to guess.
Score a point if they can guess your mime within thirty seconds.
